Forestry Innovation Consulting India Pvt. Ltd. better known as ‘Canadian Wood’, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Forestry Innovation Investments (FII) a crown agency of the government of British Columbia (B.C.), the westernmost province of Canada with a mandate to promote its forest products in the offshore markets.
From planting forests to harvesting and manufacturing lumber products, the forest sector in B.C. is a sophisticated and interconnected network involving sustainable forest management and wood processing. As one of the largest producers of softwood in the world, B.C. Canada’s lumber products are used in a wide range of applications showcasing their aesthetic and versatile qualities that include strength and durability.
In India, Canadian Wood is actively engaged in creating awareness in the market and educating the wood industry about its five distinct species from B.C. namely Western hemlock, Spruce-pine-fir (S-P- F), Douglas-fir, Western red cedar and Yellow cedar which are suitable for a wide range of indoor and outdoor applications.
Only 10% of the world’s forests are certified and Canada has 37% of the world’s forest certification. Canada has 170 million hectares of forests certified to at least one of the two internationally recognized certification programs: PEFC and FSC.
